What affects burn time

  • Length and thickness of the stick.
  • Density of the paste: hand-rolled, slow-dried sticks burn more evenly.
  • Air flow: fans and open windows make sticks burn faster.
  • Humidity: damp sticks burn unevenly; store them dry.

Fragrance after the stick burns out

A good natural stick leaves its fragrance in the room for a few hours after it has burned out, especially resinous blends such as oudh, bakhoor and kesar chandan.
